Wandering amongst alpine in that shivering December I suddenly witnessed nature's own opera house .The stage was set under azure sky amidst snow powdered peaks of upper Lachen, Sikkim, India. Valleys bedecked with buckthorns welcomed these very high altitude birds Grandalas on a grand feast and they came down in host as if living notes of blue and grey cascading in ethereal symphony. Their rhythmic cadence across those mountains might make one believe the presence of a mythical artist invisible to this corporal eye. Those thousands of rare birds were flying over the Lachen-cho river from one tree to another. Mesmerized I tried to capture the moment through my lens as my imagination took a flight with those colourful wings swarming in a surreal sonata towards heaven.
